Did you know that Disney is asking the City of Anaheim to close Magic Way between Walnut and Disneyland Drive? This will force many of us onto Ball Road or Katella Avenue, making tourist traffic even worse than it already is.

Please sign this online petition at change.org and tell Anaheim City Hall that we value our use of Magic Way and we want to keep this public street open for public use.

For more information, or to volunteer to help us get the word out about this change to our daily commute and quality of life, contact savemagicway@gmail.com

For Disney’s vision of this issue, their website describes what MIGHT be built on their property in exchange for them acquiring public streets. If you live in the area, try and line up existing residential neighborhoods against the overview of Disney’s proposal, and see how close The Mouse wants to encroach on homes. This isn’t just about Magic Way. https://www.disneylandforward.com

In the 1990s, Disney was required to replace the section of Cerritos between Walnut and West Street (now Disneyland Drive) that once ran in front of the Disneyland Hotel. When Cerritos was moved north by approx. 1,100 feet, it was renamed Magic Way. Disney now proposes closing Magic Way, a street that was required in earlier agreements, and to date we cannot locate any studies on how this impacts traffic when the vehicles currently using Magic Way are pushed onto Ball Road and Katella Avenue. The City of Anaheim has delayed their response to a public records request for documents related to the closure of Magic Way. So how much study did they put into this before demanding the abandonment of our public street?

What can we do?
Yes, Disney is a massive corporation but, by standing together, we can make our voices heard. This petition asks Anaheim leaders to consider alternatives that benefit both tourism and taxpayers. Additionally, we call for increased truth and transparency in these dealings.
